Back in November, Halo-Halo Knits and All Knit Up Designs (basically my favorite knitting people on Earth), and I created a collaboration! You’re just going to love what we’ve created for you. Keep reading to find out more!

What is this collaboration?

The West Coast Collaboration Project is a creative, cooperative venture that features designers and yarn dyers from the west coast of the United States. As residents of the California coast and Pacific Northwest, we are constantly inspired by our surroundings. We established this collaboration to create a space that combines our love of creating in a supportive environment that is intentionally human-centered. West Coast Collab is social justice-oriented and supports independent makers. Ten percent of the proceeds of the eBook project goes to Northwest Education Access, a non-profit organization helping young people facing obstacles access higher education.

Using different aspects of the west coast as inspiration, we created three accessory patterns that:
✨ are perfect for gift-knitting
✨ showcase unique lace, cable, and slipped stitches
✨ offer knitter support such as video tutorials, charts, and clearly-written instructions
✨ feature some of our favorite west coast yarn dyers! 🧶

What are the patterns?

VALLEY SNOW

A top-down triangle shawl that embodies the connection between the fiber arts and nature. A simple shawl that highlights lace repeating lace sections that make it easy to memorize and soothing to knit.

URBA & FLORA

A cabled fingerless mitt design inspired by the contrast of gently swaying trees among skyscrapers in the city. Knit bottom-up in the round with raised rib and slipped stitch cable.

SERENE SEAS

Inspired by the sea and designed with all genders in mind, this cowl is sleek, modern, and tailored. Knit bottom-up in the round with a facing-style border. You can find out more about this pattern in this post here!

Who are these patterns best for?

These patterns range in skill level from Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate. The eBook has a little something for everyone and is perfect for anyone who hopes to build on their knitting skills.

Who does it benefit?

10% of the proceeds of the eBook will be donated to Northwest Education Access, a non-profit helping young people access higher education.
